A California Chapter–led program supporting veteran farmers with training, case management, and peer connection.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
What Is EVAS?
The Empowering Veterans for Agricultural Success (EVAS) program is a statewide initiative led by the Farmer Veteran Coalition of California (FVCCA) to help veteran farmers build strong, resilient agricultural businesses.
EVAS focuses on reducing barriers to participation, expanding access to practical training, and providing structured, personalized support that reflects the real challenges of farming in California.
This program is designed to meet veterans where they are—whether they are just getting started or working to stabilize and grow an existing operation.
How EVAS Supports Veteran Farmers
EVAS is built around four core areas of support:
Business Planning & Financial Literacy
Participants gain practical tools to improve financial decision-making, business planning, and operational clarity.
Specialized Agricultural Training
Hands-on workshops and field-based learning opportunities focused on real-world production needs such as market gardening, orchard management, beekeeping, and sustainable practices.
Wellness, Resilience, and Peer Support
EVAS recognizes that farming can be demanding. Wellness and peer connection are woven into in-person programming and supported through relationship-building and shared learning.
Hybrid Learning Delivery
A mix of online learning, in-person workshops, and field-based training ensures access for veterans across California while maintaining strong, hands-on experiences.
EVAS Programs & Opportunities
EVAS-funded trainings, workshops, and opportunities will be listed here as they become available. Details on participation and registration will be shared soon.
